Staying here gives you a chance to sleep in the beautiful countryside of the Sierra del Segura, a still relatively unknown nature reserve in Spain. The ecolodges are furnished with comfortable double beds. The interiors are retro chic with vintage chairs, vases and lamps. The bubble bedroom in the ‘barbapapa house’ is fantastic for kids and they can see the starry skies out of the little round windows.
What’s for breakfast?
Homemade bread, made with flour from the local ecological bakery/mill. Also jam, honey from the area, and cheese and tomatoes from the own garden.
Our tip
The Dutch owners Lotte and Ruben organize hikes for children. On the way they collect lots of things that you can make into something fun for at home. And that’s not all, you can kayak in the area, go mountain biking, horseback riding, cave hiking and much more.
Good food
In Elche de la Sierra there is a café next to the Casa de Cultura called El Buho. Often great little bands are playing and the owner Eva cooks with fair trade products. On Wednesdays and Saturdays you can also enjoy a three-course meal at Otro Mundo with products from their own garden.
There are two lodges, one for two people and one for five people.
Price per night for the two-person lodge starts at € 55 and the price per night for the five-person lodge starts at € 75.
