Erve ‘t Hacht B&B

We’re gathering the addresses of the best B&Bs, hotels and other overnight locations we can find. All of which, we feel, are great places to go for a weekend or a bit longer. At the Erve ‘t HachtBed & Breakfast in Ane (Overijssel), you’ll find tranquility, stunning views and a warm atmosphere, all at the edge of a working farm.

What makes Erve ‘t Hacht a great place to stay?
You’ll find tranquility, stunning views and a warm atmosphere here. The B&B is located at the edge of a farm, and is decorated with great attention to detail. A beautiful quote, a birdhouse, soft colors and wooden furniture. It’s a great place to stay with children because they’re able to help feed the calves. For those who are creative, you can attend a drawing or painting workshop at the Erve ‘t Hacht atelier in an atmospheric ‘old’ hay barn.

Our tip
There’s extensive hiking and biking on offer in Vechtdal. But if you’re after something more adventurous, you can head over to nearby Hardenberg, where they have the Netherlands’ first natural whitewater canoe course.

Good food
Enjoy delicious pancakes at the Ganzenhoeve in Holthone, a wonderful three-course dinner at De Olde Woage in Gramsbergen, or a bite to eat in ‘t Klepperhuus in Hardenberg. Alternatively, if you don’t fancy going out, your host Bas will happily prepare a tasty dish for you. But bear in mind, he likes to keep things simple: you eat what you get.

Good to know
Erve ‘t Hacht has only been inhabited since 2012, but you’ll still come across small glimpses into the past. For example, the B&B’s four rooms are called De Zudde, Meuje WibbeMolengoot and Blaboer. In each room, there is a brief explanation of the history behind the name, such as the fact that Meuje formerly meant “aunt” (“tante” in today’s Dutch).

A room for two at Erve ‘t Hacht B&B starts at € 85 per night, including breakfast.
