Het Hemelrijck

We’re gathering the addresses of the best B&Bs, hotels and other overnight locations we can find. All of which, we feel, are great places to go for a weekend or a bit longer. At Het Hemelrijck B&B in Rotterdam, you will stay in one of the two guestrooms of an old house and enjoy a delicious organic breakfast each morning.

What makes Het Hemelrijck a great place to stay?
This old house from 1897 is a little oasis of calm in the Old North district of Rotterdam. The interior is a combination of old, new and refurbished furniture that has been carefully collected by the owner Johan. And what’s also really nice is that you can rent bicycles from him; there’s no finer way to spend a summer’s day in Rotterdam than cycling through the city.

Where do you sleep?
There are two guestrooms, with nice crisp white linen, fluffy towels and your own ensuite bathroom. The organic breakfast, which differs slightly every day, is served in the cozy kitchen, where you’ll find a gas stove from the sixties and an antique French dresser.

Our tip
Go eat in the French restaurant around the corner. They have flowered wallpaper, red and white checked tablecloths and delicious food.

A room for two at Het Hemelrijck starts at €160 for two nights (minimum stay), including breakfast.
