Treehouses in Swedish Lapland

We’re gathering the addresses of the best B&Bs, hotels and other overnight locations we can find. All of which, we feel, are great places to go for a weekend or a bit longer.  In the treehouses of Granö Beckasin in Swedish Lapland, you will feel free as a bird and enjoy breathtaking views of the Ume River.

What makes Granö Beckasin a great place to stay?
When you stay at Granö Beckasin Lodge, you stay in nature. The lodge has several accommodation options: an eco-lodge with twelve rooms, chalets, and our favorite – the Bird’s nests. These luxury treehouses are located on an island in the river, and hidden in the trees. Their large glass windows mean you get to gaze out over the lush green Lapland that lies at your feet. In the evening, you can stare at the stars from your bed.

What’s for breakfast?
An organic breakfast in the adjacent restaurant.

Our tip
The surrounding area is an abundance of beauty. Explore the unspoiled nature with a guide, go on a moose safari, or go fishing in the river. After an exciting day outdoors, book yourself in for an evening session in the hot tub at the edge of the river.

Good food
The chef at Granö Beckasin has delved into local traditions and customs, cooking food that is organic and pure. During dinner, you’ll be treated to tastes such as reindeer carpaccio and moose stew…

The Bird’s nest starts at €150 per person per night, including breakfast.
