Tuscan dream

We’re gathering the addresses of the best B&Bs, hotels and other overnight locations we can find. All of which, we feel, are great places to go for a weekend or a bit longer. At the Pieve A Pava Guesthouse in San Giovanni D’asso, Tuscany (Italy) you will find tranquility, beautiful views and great food.

What makes the Pieve A Pava Guesthouse a great place to stay?
The guesthouse is located in a beautiful hamlet with its own chapel, farmhouse and the former priest’s home. You are surrounded by peace and quiet, beautiful wide vistas and picturesque medieval villages.

What’s for breakfast?
After a wonderful night’s sleep, head over to the open outdoor kitchen where an extensive breakfast buffet is on offer, including freshly baked bread, homemade jams, fresh fruit salad, fresh juice, yogurt, cereals, cheeses and Italian cold cuts.

Our tip
Go for a hike or get on a bike and take in the stunning natural surroundings, pay a visit to the lovely Italian villages or laze the day away by the pool… anything’s possible. The Belgian owners, Rita and Johny, will be only too happy to give you the best tips.

Good food
Having run a restaurant in Belgium for 30 years prior to moving to Tuscany, it’s fair to say that Rita is a great cook. She uses lots of local ingredients, often from their own vegetable garden, in her dishes. Every day, you can enjoy a lunch of fresh salad, great pasta and a dessert. And to top it all off, Rita bakes delicious cakes! Two or three times a week, she also prepares a dinner. But there are also several lovely small restaurants in the area, including Osteria del Leone in Bagno Vignoni.

Good to know
Rita and Johny regularly organize cooking workshops for small groups. You can also book wellness services such as yoga sessions and massages prior to your arrival (as these are arranged with external parties).

A room for two at Pieve A Pava Guesthouse starts at €160 per night, including breakfast (minimum two night stay)
