3 book clubs to follow online

book clubs

If you love reading, you know how great it is to talk with like-minded people about books. However, if you don’t know many people around you that enjoy reading, it might be a nice idea for you to find some online book clubs you can take part in or follow. There are plenty of wonderful ones around; we selected a few of our favorites.

Our Shared Shelf

This online book club is an initiative of British actress and activist Emma Watson. You can join on both their Instagram page and Goodreads group, with the last one having over 100,000 members. Each month, Emma and her team pick a feminist read that deals with issues such as race and gender. They post discussion questions on the Goodreads group and invite everyone to join in on the conversation.

Lily Lit Club

Owned by The Washington Post, The Lily is a newspaper by women for women. They have their own book club on Instagram, @lilylitclub. As you might expect, they read all kinds of books solely by female authors, from Sylvia Plath and Simone de Beauvoir to more contemporary writers too.

Oprah’s Book Club 2.0

Oprah’s Book Club has been the most well-known celebrity book club for years now. But while Oprah’s beloved TV-show has ended, the book club lives on. You can now find the complete list of all Oprah’s book-club choices online. There’s also a Goodreads group where you discuss books with one of the 35,000 members.
