Cross-stitch artworks on the street

cross-stitch

Who says that the cross-stitch is only for the couch at home? Under the pseudonym Aheneah, Portuguese artist Ana Martins uses this embroidery technique to create impressive works of art for the wall.

Martins makes these works of art with the help of a lot of screws and meters of thread. For example, she used 15,000 screws and ten kilometers of thread for the fish shown below. With her life-size artworks, Martins wants to combine a classical tradition with modern street art, thereby connecting cultures and generations.
