Visit these museums from your sofa

Even though the museums are currently closed, you can still visit them via the computer: these museums are giving virtual tours.

Thanks to the collaboration between the arts initiative Google Arts & Culture and museums throughout the whole world, we can view and learn about art from our sofas.

Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

View thousands of art pieces and learn about them at the same time. You can see Vermeer’s The Milkmaid in absolute detail, alongside The Love Letter. Even masterpieces like Rembrandt’s The Night Watch are available for you to observe to your hearts content.

Here you will find mostly works of art that fall under the categories of the impressionism movement, post impressionism and modern art. ‘Wander’ through exhibitions and admire artworks, both of which offer written explanations. If you’re curious about the woman behind the museum, we’ve written a story about her.
